A quick update about that fire incident
Full steam ahead
What can we say, we are not one to let a little hiccup like a grill venue without a grill stop us.
Our trading hours have not changed.
We have hacked together a set-up that has allowed us to push on. See you for a banh mi or a noodle bowl.
Late April Update
First insurance. Now council red tape. It could be June or even July when the grill comes back.
We are celebrating a fourth birthday in May. Let’s hope we do not celebrate a first birthday without a flue in August.
About what happened
5 Aug 23. The extraction unit (fan) on top of the flue (chimney) caught on fire. We are still determining the cause. Our wood grill inside ca com is out of action until it is all fixed. How long remains the question. We are waiting on insurance :)

We opened ca com to make a difference
Who we are
ca com was a lockdown detour that turned into a little bricks-and-mortar shop servicing the community on Bridge Road. We serve quality sandwiches delivered in banh mi rolls during the day.
Bread and butter…
Our sandwiches take influence from the French, the Vietnamese and the Laotians. A baguette roll sliced open and filled with spreads, pickles and proteins. Mayo, red curry paste, garlic sauce; sai oua (Lao pork sausage), house made charcuterie, sardines. Taking a cue from Vietnamese cuisine, we choose to feature seasonal vegetables for our vegetarian option. We have cycled through asparagus, summer’s best tomatoes, autumnal mushrooms and the crowd favourite that is spiced pumpkin.
